We wish to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to our friends, neighbors and relatives for their sympathy and kindness to us at the return of the body of our son and brother, William E. Taylor. We also wish to thank all those who sent the lovely floral offerings, the VFW, American Legion, Rector Funeral Home, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Kersey, the pallbearers and Rev. William E. Taylor of Greencastle has been declared dead by the Defense Department in Washington, according to a telegram to his father, Samuel Taylor.  Only today the Department of Defense made public the list of all war prisoners held by the Koreans for more than a year and in each case, they were declared dead, so far as the War Department records go. Maj. Gen. William E. Bergin, who sent notifications to emergency addresses of all personnel concerned said most of the deaths have been determined to have taken place while the men were prisoners. – kbz
